FAQ

Can it offer privacy?

Yes and directional privacy is also possible if you are not using it for solar reduction by turning it 90° it can stop people from seeing in from certain areas sideways. The privacy is offered day and night in some instances like a one way window film. 

Can I have it on my house?

Yes absolutely and it brings some real benefits over other solar control products.  Smart Louvre doesn’t rob natural light like in other product such as blinds so your home will always be the bright light place it is now. Domestic brochure. STOP PRESS: New Building Regulation Approved Document O  comes into effect in June 2022. This is designed to prevent the overheating in Residential buildings and actually limits the amount of unprotected glazing you can have. Internal blinds which do not really stop solar heat gain / overheating are NOT permitted to be taken into consideration. External shading has to be both ‘Fixed and Passive’ so anything motorised or ‘dynamic’ cannot be used.MicroLouvre® is totally compliant and Fit for Purpose to meet this new legislation

Can I have this on my office?

Is it fire rated?

MicroLouvre® KoolShade® is also A1/A2 fire rated, which is now a legal requirement for many residential buildings over 5 stories.

How much heat can it block?

In high summer when the sun is at its highest it can block 100% of heat hitting glazing resulting in up to 22°C internal temperature reductions. 

Can it be used for over head glazing?

Yes but with consideration to direction. The angle of the roof and the fixed angle of the Louvre material may work for or against but the on site survey will highlight suitability.
