Pros & Cons of Venetian Blinds
Pros
- Classic dressed window look
- Directional privacy and light redirection
- Many material and slat width options available
- Tight fitting into recesses when butted together and can be aligned and matched to surrounding blinds
- Can be used on shaped windows
- Can be motorised for tilt only or tilt and lift at the time of manufacturing
Cons
- A lot of surfaces that collect a lot of dust on the slats
- Not fully private; small gaps allow a view through into the room form the outside
- Can be heavy to lift up requiring two hands (if not motorised lift)
- Gather at the top so may require people to duck under if used in doorways
- Sometimes take some tweaking after lowering to level up
- Operates using cords which can wear and fray over time
- Not easy or possible to repair
- Slats can get damaged if items/people fall against them
- Can’t easily be motorised at a later date
